Bars and Night Spots
The West End is where all the nightlife is from a tourist perspective.
There are surprisingly few popular bars in the West End, although it is partly this fact that makes Roatan the friendly place it is. Everyone knows everyone because they drink in the same place.
Sundowners - This bar is great to watch the sunset from March until October, the rest of the year the sun sets behind the headland of Half Moon Bay. It is a real beach bar, there are steps down to the beach where you will find many people sitting around the fire chilling. It is busy every night, on Wednesday they have 'CHASE THE ACE', when the jackpot is big it is crazy in there! It is located opposite Native Sons/Chillies/Arco Iris.
Oasis Lounge is a pool bar located in Sandy Bay with a relaxed atmosphere. A fantastic place to take the kids for lunch and a swim, or in the evening for a meal away from West End. They have satellite TV and usually show major sporting events. And a extensive cocktail menu as far as Roatn goes!!
Nova, tends to get lively slightly later in the evening. Its a great bar run by a French guy called Guillomme, they often have live DJs, Texas Hold Em, and a nice chill out area.
The Blue Marlin opened this year in the old purple turtle spot. Usually pretty busy on a Friday night with live music.
Purple Turtle is now a cerveceria supply depot, but obviously still a bar. Relocated to opposite Eagles Rays and next to Twisted, still seems to have customers most nights.
Twisted - This is a nice mixture. It is half tourists, half locals and probably the wildest bar in West End. People tend to head there after Sundowners and before Black Pearl. Drinks are cheap and the music funky, people can often be seen dancing on the bar. It is located past Sueno Del Mar towards West Bay.
Fosters is out on the water and is sometimes a great night out sometimes very quiet. Sold earlier this year and is undergoing major reconstruction. Rumored to be opening as a night club with the odd Chippendale nights!
