Getting There

To get to Roatan you must either fly or get the ferry from La Ceiba.

Flights

I use Kayak IAH-RTB as little as $288 return!, Expedia and Travelocity due to their useful fare tracker graphs which really help you get a bargain if you have flexible dates.  I have found that when flying from Europe it is best to search for the UK to USA flights separately to the USA to Roatan flight.

When flying from the USA I have found Newark to be a cheaper airport to originate from than Atlanta or Houston, even though from Newark you will usually connect through one of these two hubs.

Direct to Roatan (airport code RTB)

Days of the week vary according to season, Saturdays and Sundays have the most flights you may find direct flights on Wed, Thur or Friday.  Continental has the biggest selection of weekday services.

Continental from Houston and Newark

Delta from Atlanta

Taca from Miami and Houston

Blue Panarama from Milan, Italy

Flights to the Honduran Mainland

At mainland airports luggage has a very bad habit of either being lost, delayed or a mixture of the two.  If at all possible fly direct to Roatan.  Keep All valuables, medication and a couple of personal items in hand luggage just in case.

San Pedro Sula (SAP) or La Ceiba (LCE) from here you can connect to Roatan on a domestic flight.  The last flight to Roatan departs San Pedro at 3.30pm, the last from Le Ceiba is 5pm.  These airports are serviced by:

Continental: IAH, EWR

Delta: ATL

Spirit: FLL

American Airlines: MIA, LAX

Taca: LAX, MIA
