Well if you are still reading this after that quote from the DSAT Tech Deep Diver manual, maybe technical diving is for you!

Roatan's clear, calm and warm waters, combined with it's deep walls and the wreck of the Josie Jay make it an ideal location for technical diving.  Especially your first steps into this side of the sport, it is not possible to get much more conducive conditions to learn new diving techniques, hence the thriving recreational diving industry here. 

Diving facilities on Roatan are exceptionally good, thousands of certifications are issued every year, there are two hypobaric chambers and a number of very experienced instructors.  Combine that with direct flights form Houston, Miami, Atlanta and Milan (Italy) and you have a great destination for Technical diving.

In fact Tec diving is my little baby, I am currently the only Tec instructor on the island.

The tech deep course is not a natural progression through the PADI system.   The step to tec diving is a large one, bigger than any you will have taken in your dive training to date.  The equipment is different, the procedures are different and the options you have in an emergency are different.  The first time you put on double cylinders and stage tanks you will feel like you have gone from being a fighter jet under water to a jumbo jet!  That feeling goes in the same way you got used to Recreational diving though!

The first Tec course is Tec Deep Diver level one, followed by Tec Deep Diver level two from this you move to Tec Trimix diver.  For more information on these courses follow the links below.
